FLORIDA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police conducted a multi-day investigation in the Town of Florida that ended in six arrests for several crimes against children and sex acts. The Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) aided the investigation.

Scott Simmons (56, Johnstown), Zachary Nawotniak (22, Queensbury), Samuel Schultz (56, Amsterdam), Tasean Booth (32, Schenectady), Denis Omuriuki (35, Cohoes), and Erick DeJesus-Rosa (30, Amsterdam) each face several charges.

Simmons Charges:

  • Possessing a sexual performance by a child
  • Promotion of a sexual performance by a child

Simmons was arraigned at the Johnstown City Court. He was taken to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash, a $30,000 bond, or a $80,000 partially secured bond.

Nawotniak Charges:

  • Second-degree patronizing a prostitute
  • Second-degree attempted rape
  • Second-degree attempted criminal sex act

Nawotniak was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Schultz Charges:

  • Second-degree attempted rape
  • Second-degree patronizing a prostitute
  • Second-degree criminal mischief
  • Third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment

Schultz was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. New York State Police say Schultz is a level three sex offender.

Booth Charges:

  • Second-degree patronizing a prostitute
  • Second-degree criminal mischief
  • Third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment
  • Endangering the welfare of a child

State Police say more charges are anticipated against Booth and that he is a three-time convicted felon with other arrests. Booth was arraigned in the Florida Town Court and is held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.

Omuriuki Charges:

  • Second-degree attempted rape
  • Second-degree attempted criminal sex act
  • Second-degree patronizing a person for prostitution

Omuriuki was issued a ticket to appear at a later date in Amsterdam Town Court and was released.

DeJesus-Rosa Charges:

  • Second-degree patronizing a prostitute
  • Second-degree attempted criminal sex act

State Police say DeJesus-Rosa was issued an appearance ticket, is set to appear in the Amsterdam Town Court at a later date, and was released.
