Welcome to Arrest Stories. A country music road manager was arrested in Texas after allegedly being caught in a sting operation while attempting to meet what he believed was a thirteen-year-old boy. Here's what may have happened.
Joel Schoepf, who worked as assistant road manager for country artist Parker McCollum, was arrested on November thirteenth in New Braunfels, Texas following a sting operation conducted by Houston-based organization Predator Poachers. The operation was led by Alex Rosen, founder of the vigilante group that conducts predator-catching operations similar to the television show To Catch A Predator.
According to police reports, Schoepf had been contacting what he believed to be a thirteen-year-old boy through Reddit. The communication led to arrangements for an in-person meeting at a McDonald's restaurant in New Braunfels. When Schoepf arrived at the location, he was confronted by Rosen instead of the minor he expected to meet.
Video footage captured during the confrontation shows Schoepf initially fleeing to his vehicle, with Rosen following him. During the recorded encounter, Schoepf allegedly made several admissions about his online activities. He reportedly confessed to trading sexually explicit material involving minors and children, and admitted to using multiple platforms including Reddit, Telegram, and the dating app Sniffies to access such content and interact with others interested in child pornography.
Rosen stated during the confrontation, "He is a predator. We caught him off Reddit. He was into babies and toddlers." Rosen also commented, "He is getting what he deserves right now."
Schoepf had been working as Parker McCollum's assistant road manager since February twenty twenty-three. Following his arrest, he was taken to Comal County Jail. His bond was set at fifty thousand dollars.
The arrest was part of ongoing operations by Predator Poachers, which posts their activities under the social media handle iFightForKids.
