Rockim Prowell now faces charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at two million dollars. According to official narratives, Prowell allegedly used an unnamed dating app to connect with his victims before launching what authorities describe as calculated attacks.
The investigation centers around the death of Miguel Angel King, whom Prowell allegedly met through the dating app. Officials state that Prowell gunned down King and stole his vehicle. King's body was later discovered in Angeles National Forest, while his car was recovered more than a week later just miles from Prowell's residence.
Authorities report that forensic evidence recovered from King's vehicle directly linked Prowell to the slaying. The investigation expanded when a second victim's car was found in Prowell's garage during his arrest.
The timeline reveals disturbing patterns. In February of twenty twenty-four, Prowell allegedly attacked Jordan Andrews. Then on February twenty-second of this year, officials say Prowell met with a forty-year-old victim, binding him and beating him with a baseball bat before the man escaped. Prowell allegedly chased the fleeing victim with his vehicle, striking him and breaking his leg.
Law enforcement officials expressed the gravity of these alleged crimes. One stated, "Imagine the terror and horror these victims felt after being duped into believing they were meeting for one reason, only to face inexplicable violence. These were predatory acts that showed a total disregard of life."
Another official emphasized the collaborative investigation, saying, "This suspect has now been stopped in his tracks because of the diligent and tenacious work done by investigators at both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department."
