On November twenty third at approximately nine forty five in the morning, Palm Beach Police received a nine one one call from a witness who reported seeing what she initially believed was a man cutting open a German Shepherd near the Worth Avenue Clock Tower. The incident occurred at one of Palm Beach's most popular photo spots on Worth Avenue.
According to police reports, Jonathan Houston allegedly filmed himself cutting open and biting into a dead hog at the location. The witness who called authorities reported seeing the animal's torso cut open with blood spilling onto the walkway. She observed Houston cutting up and examining the organs of the dead animal.
After the incident, Houston got into his truck and drove away from the scene. Palm Beach Police utilized their license plate reader system to track a white Chevrolet van leaving the midtown beach area, which led them to identify Houston as the suspect.
During the investigation, Houston agreed to send police the video he had recorded of himself eating the animal, which he had filmed during the incident at the Clock Tower.
The Worth Avenue Clock Tower is known as a popular destination for tourists and locals to take photographs, making the alleged incident particularly disturbing to witnesses in the area.
Houston faces charges of misdemeanor criminal mischief in connection with the incident. He was released on a two thousand dollar bond following his arrest.
