FORMER NCAA CHAMPION ARRESTED JUST 16 MINUTES AFTER WOMAN

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A Kansas State basketball graduate student manager and former national championship player was arrested on domestic battery charges in Manhattan, Kansas. Here's what may have happened.

On February ninth, twenty twenty-six, Mark Randall Vital Junior, a twenty-nine-year-old graduate student manager for the Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball team, was arrested at twelve twenty a.m. on domestic battery charges at the six hundred block of Vattier Street in Manhattan, Riley County.

Vital, a former Baylor forward who helped the Bears win the NCAA national championship in twenty twenty-one, was taken into custody sixteen minutes after a twenty-seven-year-old woman was arrested at the same address. The woman, identified as Kristen Blake Whiting Daniels, was arrested at twelve zero four a.m. for domestic battery and criminal damage to property valued at less than one thousand dollars.

Police records show Vital's bond was set at two thousand dollars, while Daniels faced a four thousand dollar bond. Neither individual was booked into jail, and both have since posted their respective bonds.

During his playing career at Baylor, Vital averaged six point four points and six point four rebounds per game on the championship team. He briefly pursued professional football, signing a reserve contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in February twenty twenty-two before being released that July.

Vital joined current Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang's staff as a graduate student manager prior to the twenty twenty-five through twenty twenty-six season. Tang previously served as an assistant coach at Baylor during Vital's playing career there.

Following news of the arrest, Kansas State athletics released a statement saying, "We are aware of Mark Vital's arrest on Sunday night. He has been removed from all team responsibilities until the judicial process runs its course."

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, with both arrests happening within minutes of each other at the same residential address in Manhattan.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
