On December twenty-seventh, two thousand twenty-five, David Nguyen was taken into custody in Copperas Cove, Texas, and is being held without bond in connection with his mother's death. The case began when police responded to a well-being check after family members were unable to reach seventy-two-year-old Terrie Nguyen. The chase reached speeds over one hundred miles per hour as David Nguyen attempted to evade law enforcement. Authorities deployed a tire deflation device near the fifty-two-mile marker in an effort to stop the fleeing vehicle. David Nguyen lost control of the truck about ten miles from where the chase began. The truck veered off the road, struck a traffic sign, and crashed down an embankment into a tree.
