Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-year-old Iowa man was arrested on two counts of indecent exposure after allegedly exposing himself to drivers on two separate interstate highways on consecutive days. Here's what may have happened.
On October fourteenth around seven thirty in the morning, drivers on Interstate eighty near Oxford in Johnson County reported witnessing a disturbing scene. According to police reports, Danan Ary stood against the rear of his two thousand twelve Chevrolet Impala with his pants and underwear removed to his ankles and shirt lifted to expose his genitals and abdomen to oncoming traffic.
The following day, October fifteenth, around three thirty in the afternoon, similar reports came in from drivers on the northbound lane of Interstate three eighty near North Liberty. Witnesses again reported seeing Ary standing at the back of his car and exposing his genitals to oncoming drivers.
When deputies questioned Ary about the incidents, he admitted to the offenses. According to police reports, Ary told investigators this behavior was fulfilling as excitement that was currently missing in his blah life. Deputies noted that Ary acknowledged he knew this behavior to be inappropriate and unacceptable as well as offensive to others within view.
Court documents indicate Ary has a lengthy criminal history. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Johnson County Jail. Bond was set at five thousand dollars for the two counts of indecent exposure charges.
The incidents occurred during peak travel times on two of Eastern Iowa's major interstate highways, potentially exposing numerous commuters and travelers to the inappropriate behavior. Police have not released information about how many drivers reported the incidents or whether additional charges may be filed.
