LOUISIANA MAYOR ARRESTED AFTER $21,000 CAR REPAIR BILLS

On February twenty-sixth, twenty twenty-six, agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested O'Landis Millican, the mayor of Arcadia in Bienville Parish. Millican faces charges of malfeasance in office and felony theft after investigators say he misappropriated public funds for personal benefit.

According to the arrest details, Millican used more than thirty thousand dollars in public funds for personal purposes over multiple years. The alleged misconduct included using more than twenty-one thousand dollars in public money to pay for repairs to his personal vehicle on separate occasions throughout twenty twenty-five. Investigators say Millican issued multiple checks from the town's accounts to cover these repair costs.

The charges also stem from private events Millican allegedly hosted at his home in Arcadia during twenty twenty-four and twenty twenty-five. According to the investigation, Millican spent more than seven thousand eight hundred dollars to rent tents, lights, generators and cooling fans from a Ruston business for these personal events at his residence.

The arrest was made by agents working for Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill. Following his arrest on February twenty-sixth, Millican was booked into the Bienville Parish Jail.

An official connected to the case stated, "No matter who you are, if you break your oath of office, you're going to jail."

The investigation revealed that Millican allegedly issued checks from town accounts to cover personal expenses, using his position as mayor to access public funds for private benefit. The charges represent a significant breach of public trust for an elected official responsible for managing municipal resources.
