MANS ARREST FOR MOTHERS MURDER HINGES ON SILVER COINS ARGUMENT

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-eight-year-old West Milwaukee man has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide after allegedly beating his mother to death with a baseball bat on February twenty-fourth, twenty twenty-six. Here's what may have happened.

Hayward Allen Jenkins arrived at his mother Cheryl Jenkins' residence on the night of February twenty-third, twenty twenty-six, staying in the guest room. According to police reports, Jenkins had gotten into an argument with his mother over silver coins, money, and her not listening when he was trying to express himself.

Around four in the morning on February twenty-fourth, a witness heard a noise which woke him up. Later that morning at approximately eight o'clock, Cheryl Jenkins' fiancé discovered the guest bedroom door was locked. The fiancé entered through another door and found Cheryl Jenkins lying face down in the guest bedroom, unresponsive with a head injury in a pool of blood.

Emergency responders pronounced Cheryl Jenkins dead at the scene. Police observed a wooden baseball bat on top of her body with blood on it, and noted a large wound on the back of her head. An autopsy determined the victim died from multiple blunt force injuries, including skull fractures and brain hemorrhaging.

According to court documents, Jenkins told investigators that he got angry with the situation and flipped out, stating that his mom blew off his concerns and kept coming in his face. He reportedly said he felt he and his mom were getting nowhere and he had exhausted every situation that he could. Jenkins allegedly struck his mother multiple times in the head with the baseball bat while she was sitting in a chair.

Security footage showed a man running between apartment buildings and boarding an MCTS bus after the incident. Hayward Jenkins was arrested at Potawatomi Casino just after noon on February twenty-fourth. He reportedly told police it was wrong for murdering my mother. Bond was set at three hundred thousand dollars.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
