MOTHER ARRESTED TWO YEARS AFTER INFANTS MYSTERIOUS HEAD TRAUMA DEATH

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-seven-year-old woman has been arrested in West Virginia on murder charges in connection with her ten-month-old daughter's death in Ohio. Here's what may have happened.

On December nineteenth, twenty twenty-five, Daisha Somers was taken into custody by the Mason County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police in the three hundred block of Seventh Street near Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Somers had been a fugitive on murder charges related to the death of her infant daughter.

The case stems from events that occurred in November twenty twenty-two. On November twentieth, twenty twenty-two, Somers' ten-month-old daughter Ka'myla was taken to the hospital after suffering severe head trauma. The child had sustained skull fractures, bleeding of the stomach, retinal hemorrhaging, multiple strokes and cardiac arrest. Three days later, on November twenty-third, twenty twenty-two, Ka'myla died from her injuries.

Following an investigation conducted by Hocking County deputies with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Special Victims Unit, a Hocking County grand jury handed down a ten-count felony indictment against Somers on Wednesday. Somers, who was previously from Logan in Hocking County, had been wanted on murder charges in connection with her daughter's death.

The arrest involved multiple law enforcement agencies including West Virginia State Police, Mason County deputies and Point Pleasant police. Following her arrest, Somers was transported to the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville where she is currently being held.

The investigation revealed that the infant had suffered what authorities described as severe head trauma that ultimately led to her death. The case had been under investigation for over two years before the indictment was issued and Somers was apprehended.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
