While in police custody, Kazim allegedly attempted to negotiate her release by offering the arresting officer one thousand dollars to drop all charges. When that initial offer was declined, she reportedly increased her proposal to five thousand dollars.
During the booking process, Kazim made statements to officers saying "Just let me go, my family has a lot of money," according to police reports. Her troubles compounded when correctional staff conducted a search and discovered a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance in her pocket. Officers identified the substance as suspected cocaine.
The incident resulted in multiple charges against the medical professional. Kazim now faces charges for bribery of a public servant, possession of a controlled substance, and trespassing on property after warning. The original trespassing charge that stemmed from her refusal to leave the basketball event expanded into more serious felony allegations.
