Welcome to Arrest Stories.

A son's failure to act led to his mother's death in a Chandler home that authorities described as a scene of extreme neglect.

Here's what may have happened.

The incident took place in Chandler, Arizona. Police have identified the suspect as Allen Page. In September 2025, hospice care staff were called to Page's home where they found Mary Elenz unresponsive and in extremely poor physical and living conditions. Elenz died the day after hospice staff discovered her in that state. One officer recalled finding the scene to be the most horrific thing they had ever seen in their life. Investigators noted that Page appeared to have noticed none of the deterioration in Elenz's condition. Authorities allege that Page failed to provide necessary care and medical attention despite being responsible for her personal and financial care. Page was formally arrested on August 27, 2025. He is charged with second-degree murder, vulnerable adult abuse, and misconduct involving weapons. A court appearance has been scheduled for September 3. The Chandler Police Department handled the investigation. All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts.
