Welcome to Arrest Stories. A country music star faces a felony arrest warrant in New Mexico after a canceled concert left behind a trail of alleged destruction at a resort hotel. Heres what may have happened.

Twenty-six-year-old country singer Bailey Zimmerman was scheduled to perform at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May twenty-seventh. That day, Zimmerman posted on Instagram telling fans, quote, I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I'm not able to give you all the show you deserve.

But what authorities allege happened behind the scenes tells a different story.

According to an affidavit filed in Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, surveillance footage showed Zimmerman appearing intoxicated throughout the afternoon of May twenty-seventh. Around four thirty in the afternoon, during sound check, Zimmerman allegedly stumbled onto the stage at the resort amphitheater and grabbed a guitar from a personal assistant. The criminal complaint states, quote, Mr. Zimmerman swung the guitar, striking the ground twice before tripping over the stage and falling backward. Investigators further allege he threw a microphone off the stage, threw down a microphone stand, kicked drum cymbals, shoved one of his guitarists, and spit toward a Sandia security officer standing nearby. Band members attempted to intervene, but Zimmerman allegedly yelled at them before walking offstage.

After leaving the stage, Zimmerman allegedly refused to leave in the bus provided by the resort. Sandia police were contacted, and he eventually boarded the bus.

The following morning, housekeeping discovered more than sixteen thousand dollars in damage to Zimmermans hotel room, including a broken television, a hole in the wall, damaged furniture, and damage to the walls and carpet. Two chairs were also reported missing. Investigators also found that Zimmerman had charged over four hundred dollars in alcohol to the room without paying.

On June eighteenth, a warrant for Zimmermans arrest was issued. He faces one count of criminal damage to property, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of falsely obtaining services, a misdemeanor. The warrant lists no bond.

Five days after the warrant was issued, Zimmerman released a public statement through his attorney. Quote, First things first, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort and Casino. I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful. I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I take full accountability for everything that happened and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected.

He also addressed ticketholders directly, saying, quote, To my fans who bought tickets and showed up expecting a performance, I am so sorry. You deserved better from me. I understand that being a musician comes with big responsibilities, both on and off stage, and I know that I fell short that day. I am taking this legal matter seriously. I am committed to doing the work necessary to learn and grow.

It remains unconfirmed whether Zimmerman intends to turn himself in to authorities in response to the active warrant.
