Welcome to Arrest Stories. A Detroit Lions cornerback faces the possibility of life in prison after voluntarily turning himself in to Florida authorities in connection with a kidnapping and armed robbery case. Heres what may have happened.
On June twenty-fourth, two thousand twenty-six, Terrion Arnold surrendered to authorities at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County, Florida, after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with a robbery and kidnapping that allegedly took place in Tampa. Arnold is facing four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery. He is currently being held without bond.
According to the Florida state attorney's office in Hillsborough County, the alleged incident traces back to a theft at an Airbnb Arnold had rented in Largo, Florida, from January twenty-fifth through February first. Arnold estimated that more than two hundred fifty thousand dollars in cash and goods were stolen from the property. He did not report the theft until nine oh five p.m. Eastern Time on February third, stating he had not initially been aware anything was missing. Among the stolen items, according to a Largo Police Department report, were high-end bags, guns, jewelry, a cellphone, and one hundred thousand dollars in cash.
According to the state attorney's office, Arnold allegedly began coordinating retaliation within hours of filing that police report. The press release states Arnold is accused of, quote, coordinating and directing codefendants to lure three men to an apartment where the victims were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint. According to a Tampa Police Department report, the three victims were pistol-whipped, held at gunpoint, and interrogated about their involvement in the theft. One of the alleged aggressors reportedly filmed the incident on FaceTime.
The alleged robbery and kidnapping occurred shortly after midnight on February fourth, two thousand twenty-six. A City of Tampa release stated that, quote, investigators believe, based on evidence gathered, that Arnold was the primary conspirator of the robbery and kidnapping.
State Attorney Suzy Lopez addressed the case directly, saying, quote, no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. A dispute over missing property does not justify kidnapping, violence, or retaliation. This arrest is the result of months of investigative work and collaboration between the Tampa Police Department and our prosecutors.
Two co-defendants, Arianna Del Valle and Jasmine Randazzo, pleaded guilty on June twenty-fourth. Randazzo was sentenced to four years in prison followed by six years of probation. Del Valle entered an open plea, with sentencing to be set at a later date. Both are required to testify in future proceedings related to the case.
Arnold and four co-defendants remain in jail without bond.
Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, issued a statement on Arnold's behalf, saying, quote, Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence. There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences. Mr. Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication.
The Detroit Lions released a brief statement, saying, quote, we are aware of the legal situation regarding Terrion Arnold. We will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process.
The NFL confirmed it is aware of the matter and that it would undergo the typical disciplinary review for players.
