A man tried to slip away through a back window, but police were waiting in the Quailcrest area.

Here's what may have happened.

The incident took place in the Quailcrest area. Police identified the suspect as Doyle Cheek. Polk County deputies responded to the area to locate Cheek as a fugitive sex offender. Deputies arrived at a residence and spoke with a man who identified himself as Jason Cheek. The suspect jumped from a rear window and took off running. Deputies chased him down and caught him. Cheek was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. He was also charged with Failure to Identify as a Fugitive and Evading Arrest. He is currently in custody facing these charges. All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts.
