Welcome to Arrest Stories.

A 31-year-old man is facing first-degree murder charges after an argument turned deadly in a Rockville parking lot.

Here's what may have happened.

The incident took place in the 12000 block of Georgia Avenue in Rockville, Maryland. Officers responded to the scene in the early hours of Monday morning after receiving a report of a stabbing. They found 25-year-old David Estrada Fuentes unconscious in a parking lot behind H Mart with multiple stab wounds. The victim suffered injuries to his chest, face, and upper left arm. Officers performed CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived, but Estrada Fuentes later died at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. Detectives determined that the suspect and victim knew each other and had been involved in an argument before the stabbing. Police identified the suspect as Elder Blanco Zapata, a 31-year-old from Rockville. Zapata was arrested later that Monday after leaving his Rockville residence. The arrest was made by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force working with Montgomery County Police. He is formally charged with first-degree murder. Zapata is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit pending a bond hearing. Police have not released a motive for the dispute or specific details about the weapon used. All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts.
