Isaiah Mckoy Killed a Man in Harnett County Custody

An inmate in Harnett County is facing a first-degree murder charge after another man died in custody.
Here's what may have happened.
On August 28, Christian Bridges was assaulted in a dormitory at the Harnett Correctional Institution. Bridges died on the way to the hospital shortly after midnight on August 29. Police identified the suspect as Isaiah McKoy. Authorities allege McKoy was involved in the assault that resulted in Bridges' death. McKoy is formally charged with first-degree murder. The incident occurred in Lillington, North Carolina. The Lillington Police Department is handling the investigation. McKoy was previously arrested in June 2022 for the July 2021 shooting death of a 75-year-old. He received a second-degree murder conviction in 2024 related to that earlier incident. Police have not released a motive for the current assault. All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts.
