Upon arrival, officers discovered a 63-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her face. Authorities identified the suspect in the shooting as Jonathan Lopez. Lopez was taken into custody shortly after the incident was reported. He was subsequently booked into the Lorain County Jail. Police allege that Lopez committed felonious assault and domestic violence during the incident. He is formally charged with felonious assault and domestic violence. The investigation is being handled by the Lorain Police Department. Police have not released a motive for the shooting. All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
