On August second, Hapeville police responded to an Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville, Georgia, following a report of a sexual assault involving a child. The person taken into custody was Sidney Starr, also known by her legal name Sidney Favors, a transgender model and television personality best known for appearing on season nine of Love and Hip Hop New York.
Starr faces three felony charges: sexual battery against a child under the age of sixteen, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy. According to an arrest warrant, Starr confessed to the acts during an interview with investigators but claimed the acts were consensual. Booking records indicate Starr is accused of performing oral sex on a minor at the hotel.
Following her arrest, Starr was transported to the Fulton County Jail, where she remained in custody without bond. The investigation was subsequently turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. A court appearance was scheduled for August twenty-fifth, according to court records.
The Hapeville Police Department provided limited public information about the case, stating, "Because this case involves a juvenile, no additional information will be released from our agency."
The arrest occurred on the same day Starr had promoted a television appearance. Just days prior, she had written on Instagram, "I'm BACK on your TV screens. Watch me August second on the Zeus Network as I co host The Very First Bad Boys Reunion."
Starr had also traveled to Georgia that weekend to host a reunion event connected to Industry Girl, a series on Ray J's Tronix Network.
Starr's mother, Stephanie Favors, told TMZ the allegations are completely out of character and that she does not believe her daughter would engage in sexual activity with a minor. No statement from Starr or her legal representation has been publicly issued. No affidavit detailing the allegations has been made public, and investigators have not announced whether additional charges could be forthcoming.
