Welcome to Arrest Stories. A Miami-Dade County mother was arrested after her eight-year-old daughter made disturbing allegations about what was happening inside their home. Heres what may have happened.

On June sixth, deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office responded to a home in northwest Miami-Dade County to conduct a welfare check. Upon making contact with the eight-year-old girl, deputies observed numerous scars and marks covering her body. What the child told investigators was deeply troubling.

The girl told deputies that her mother, twenty-seven-year-old Naseline Timouche, had beaten her on multiple occasions using a cord, a frying pan, a spatula, and a charging cable. The child said Timouche would sometimes wake her from sleep and strike her for no apparent reason, including hitting her in the face with a charging cable. Deputies noted that the visible scars and marks on the child's body were consistent with her account.

The child also described how Timouche handled food in the home. According to the arrest report, the victim stated to detectives that she is not allowed to eat in her residence because the food is for guests, and therefore she can eat expired foods or food from the trash. The girl told investigators she was frequently left home alone for extended periods of time, including overnight.

A neighbor told deputies she had first met the girl approximately two months earlier and had on numerous occasions allowed the child to stay in her home and provided her with food and shelter when the girl was left alone. The neighbor said she encountered the child walking around alone on Friday night and again provided her with food and clean clothing.

Following the welfare check, Timouche was arrested on June sixth and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She faces charges of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and child neglect without great bodily harm. As of Monday, Timouche remained held without bond.

The arrest report stated, the defendant knowingly and willfully failed to provide her children with the care, supervision, and services necessary to maintain the child's physical and mental health that a prudent person would consider essential for the well-being of a child.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
