Welcome to Arrest Stories. A rapper known for a chart-topping hit finds himself behind bars in South Carolina for the second time in the same year, this time facing accusations involving a hammer and a terrifying chase. Heres what may have happened.

On July fourteen, twenty twenty-six, rapper Desiigner, born Sidney Royel Selby the Third, was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County, South Carolina. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon and remained in custody at the time of this report.

Desiigner faces one count of second-degree domestic violence, along with three felony counts of malicious injury to animals or personal property. The alleged property damage in each count was valued between two thousand and ten thousand dollars, carrying a maximum sentence of five years per count. No bond was set on the domestic violence charge or on two of the three property damage counts. A one thousand five hundred dollar bond was set on the remaining property damage charge.

According to investigators, the incident allegedly began at a residence on Arbor Ridge Circle in the Conway area over an argument about removing televisions from a wall. Desiigner allegedly grabbed the woman's phone and smashed it with a hammer. The woman then ran outside for help, and Desiigner allegedly followed her with the hammer. She allegedly managed to escape with her child to a neighbor's house, but not before Desiigner allegedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground, and tossed her purse over a fence. Desiigner then allegedly used a hammer and screwdriver to damage the neighbor's vehicles.

This arrest comes less than four months after a separate domestic violence incident on March second in Conway, South Carolina, involving the mother of his child. In that case, Desiigner allegedly ripped car keys from the woman's pocket, tearing her sweatpants, placed their toddler into a vehicle, and shoved the woman to the ground when she tried to intervene. She suffered minor scratches and bleeding to her arm and lower back. Desiigner evaded capture before being arrested on March twenty-third, charged with third-degree domestic violence, and released after posting a one thousand five hundred dollar bond. That misdemeanor case remains pending, with a court appearance scheduled for October sixteenth.

Desiigner rose to prominence in twenty sixteen when his single Panda reached number one on the Billboard Hot One Hundred. He later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance. His representatives have not commented on the new arrest.
